Help fixing Wi-Fi problems on HP iPAQs

I just got an HP iPAQ h5550. I can connect to my home Wi-Fi network, but when I try to open a Web page, Pocket Internet Explorer tells me that the page I am looking for cannot be found. The same thing happens when I try to use MSN Messenger. Where is the problem?

Some folks report running the Welcome application fixes "page not found" errors. To do this, open File Explorer on your Pocket PC, go to the \Windows folder, and find the file named Welcome (towards the end of the file list). Tap on the file name to run the program.
Finally, reset the Wi-Fi hardware on your device. as follows:

Power off the device.
Remove the battery for 5-10 seconds then reinstall.
Power on the device.
