Verizon Wireless offers Motorola Q Smartphone
Verizon Wireless has announced that the long-awaited Motorola Q Smartphone is now available. The Q is based on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 software and includes a backlit QWERTY thumb keyboard, a bright, horizontal QVGA color screen, a 1.3 mega pixel camera, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Samsung introduces Smartphone with 8 GB hard drive
Originally spec'd with a 4 GB capacity hard drive, Samsung recently introduced the latest version of the SGH-i310 Smartphone with an 8GB internal hard drive. The SGH-i310 is a Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone that includes built-in stereo speakers, a VGA-out port for playing video, and an integrated digital camera. The new version of the device will be introduced in Europe later this year.

Korean company introduces Pocket PC with 30 GB hard drive
Tinnos (http://tinnos.com: Korean language site) has announced the introduction of a Windows Mobile 5.0 device with a large 4.3 diagonal color screen and a built-in mini hard drive with a 30 GB capacity. The specs indicate that Tinnos is positioning the product as a multimedia device and indicate that it will be available in Japan in June. No plans to release the device in the U.S. have been announced, but we can expect to see more Pocket PCs and Smartphones with built-in hard drives.

Beta version of SlingPlayer Mobile released for Smartphones
Sling Media, Inc. has announced the availability of the beta version of SlingPlayer Mobile for devices based on the Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone software. The new program will allow Slingbox owners to watch and control their home TV from any Internet-connected Windows Mobile Smartphone. (A PC version is already available.) The new beta version is available today as a free download from the Sling Media Web site (http://www.slingmedia.com).
