TOSHIBA PCs PHONE MODEL 2032 AVAILABLE FROM SPRINT

The 2032 is now available at a suggested retail price of $799.99. Manufactured by Toshiba and marketed by Sprint, it combines the functionality of a Pocket PC 2002 with wireless voice and data transmission. It runs a 206 MHz StrongARM processor, with 32 MB of RAM, 32 MB of flash ROM, an SD card slot, and a color TFT screen.

RAZOR ZAYO A600 POCKET PC

Razor USA, a company better known for the small, fold-up scooters you see in grade schools and on college campuses, has introduced the Zayo A600 Pocket PC is an ultra-thin, lightweight Pocket PC with a very bright screen. It weighs in at 4.9 ounces and measures 4.92 x 2.95 x 0.5 inches. It uses the new 400 MHz Intel PXA250 processor with XScale technology, and is powered by a 1350 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery for up to 12 hours of continuous use between charges (mfg. est.). The Zayo can run in Turbo Mode (400 MHz), Standard Mode (200 MHz), or Power Saving Mode (100 MHz). The slower modes are for less graphics-intensive applications such Word or Excel, and can help extend the battery life. VIEWSONIC V35 POCKET PC

ViewSonic has also jumped on the Pocket PC bandwagon with the introduction of the V35, an under-$300 device powered by an XScale processor. The V35 is spec'd at 4.2 ounces, making it the lightest Pocket PC available. It comes with 64 MB RAM and 32 MB flash ROM. It has a jog-dial on the edge to help you navigate through file lists and menus. It has one Secure Digital expansion slot. ViewSonic states that the device will be available in November through authorized ViewSonic retailers.

SAMSUNG TO RELEASE POCKET PC PHONE EDITION AND SMARTPHONE

Samsung will be releasing both a Phone Edition Pocket PC 2002 and a Windows Powered Smartphone in the near future according to a recent report. The Phone Edition will feature an integrated digital camera.

NEW POCKET PC INTRODUCED IN FRANCE

The PPC640 from Novatek sports a 206 MHz Strong Arm processor, 32 MB of flashable ROM and 64MB of RAM, a CF slot and an SD slot, a lithium polymer 1200 mAh battery, and a 65K color, backlit, TFT screen. They are selling on the Novatek site for 379.9 euros.

ACER LAUNCHES POCKET PC IN AUSTRALIA

Acer has announced the launch of its n20 and n20w Pocket PCs in Australia. Both devices are powered by Intel's 400 MHz PXA-250 processor with XScale technology, both have a built-in Memory Stick slot, instead of the more common CF or SD slots, and both are powered by lithium polymer batteries, which provide 8 hours of continuous use according to manufacturer estimates. ITRONIX INTRODUCES WIRELESS HANDHELD FOR MOBILE WORKFORCE

Itronix recently announced the GoBook Q-100, a ruggedized handheld, which has a 206 MHz Intel StrongARM processor, a 320x240 color display, and a 2800 mAh battery that provides up to 48 hours of continuous use. An internal Type II PC Card slot can be used to add wireless capability.
