Do you know of any software available that can allow scripting of the dial-up process on a Pocket PC? The only software I have found is old stuff for Windows CE 2.11 devices.
Mark Stalica
Hi Mark, Dialupmaster is the only scripting software that I am aware of. They support the Pocket PC with version 1.3 (www.zipworld. com.au/~peterept/#sw_dialupmaster).

Hi, my name is Guillermo and I read in one of your last issues that the new Toshiba Pocket PC is including a version of ATI Presentation Pack that lets a user display PowerPoint presentations on a Pocket PC. I bought an e310 and cannot find that software inside my CD or on Toshiba's Web page.
Guillermo, that was a review of the Toshiba e740. Unfortunately, ATI Presentation Pack only comes with the e740, not the e310. However, the applications in the ATI Presentation Pack are available directly from the developer, IA Style (www.iastyle.com).
I had looked all over for a slim case to protect my Jornada 568 but found that most cases sold were too bulky, adding unwanted credit card slots and too many layers of leather. Such bulk demands too large pockets and identifies you as a "pocket geek" from 50 yards away. I finally found the perfect case right under my nose—my old Hewlett-Packard 15c calculator case. This case fits the Jornada like a thin wetsuit adding only about 1/16th inch to its profile. But it's a firm spongy material that provides optimum balance between bulk and protection. Anyone with the older HP 10, 12, or 15 series calculators also has one of these cases. I suspect this calculator case will also fit many other Pocket PCs since it is reasonably stretchy and many Pocket PCs are roughly the same size. My good old reliable HP15c is now stripped naked, but it doesn't see much road action these days anyway.

I am changing my HP Jornada 568 for an HP Jornada 720. I know that the operating systems are different, but will the third-party software that I use on my current PDA be compatible? If not, is there any software available for the Handheld PC 2000? I would be most grateful for your input and advice.

Most of the current software is being written specifically for the Pocket PC and will not work on the Handheld PC. However, there is still a lot of Handheld PC software available. Check out "Looking for Handheld PC Software in All the Right Places" found in the 2003 issue of Pocket PC magazine's Buyer's Guide (www.PocketPCmag.com/BG2003/plenty.asp). In that article is a link to the "Handheld PC Software Developer List."
