HP introduces two new PDAs and three other Windows Mobile 6 devices

Hewlett-Packard has announced the introduction of five new Windows Mobile devices, including two new Windows Mobile PDAs, a handheld GPS device, and two new Windows Mobile smartphones.

  • The iPAQ 100 Series Classic Handheld: A WM 6 Classic device without phone capability but with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It has a 3.5-inch color touch screen, a powerful 624 MHz processor, 256 MB of flash ROM, and an SD-IO card slot.
  • HP's new iPAQ 200 (left) and iPAQ 100 (right) are Windows Mobile 6 Classic touch screen devices.

  • The iPAQ 200 Series Enterprise Handheld: Another WM 6 Classic device without phone capability. In addition to the 624 MHz processor, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, this one has a large (4-inch) VGA screen, CF and SD card slots, and a beefed-up 2,200 mAh rechargeable battery.
  • The iPAQ 300 Series Travel Companion: A dedicated GPS device based on the Windows Mobile 5 OS. It's powered by a 600 MHz processor, has up to 2 GB of internal storage of maps, and has a turn-by-turn navigation program built in. It does not have PDA functionality.
  • The iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator: A Windows Mobile 6 Professional device with a 2.8-inch color touch screen, 520 MHz Marvell processor, GPS capability, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a quad-band GSM/GPRS phone with EDGE and tri-band HSPDA (3G) data capability. The device also includes a numeric keypad and 3 megapixel camera.
  • The iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger: It's nearly identical to the 600 series, except that it has a QWERTY instead of a numeric keyboard.
