All the guides on this site are for browsing net on pocket pc not desktop
I have been breaking my head since five days over this

If you had a real Internet connection (read: NOT just GPRS WAP), then, you could use the DUN (Dial-Up Networking) BT profile of your I-mate from your desktop. Pair your I-mate with your PPC, discover its DUN BT profile and dial from the desktop. Then, you could be able to access the net on the desktop computer.

As you have a Wap connection, however, the situation is much worse. You can do the above, but I'm afraid it won't work. Wap connections generally can't really be shared without manual hacking, which, on the other hand, may be unlawful (I don't know if the "Wap gateway with full html access" you mentioned is legal) and, therefore, I can't really help in them.

You may want to consider getting a fully-fledged GPRS Internet subscription. Then, you will not only be able to access anything (not just Web but also mail, ICQ, MSN Messenger, IRC, FTP etc), but also will be able to do it from your desktop PC.

Thank u For the prompt reply.the blue tooth software i ' use is widcomm which does not detect the phone for dial up networking it detects the audio gateway and serial port.and shows some ssp dial up which does not work either.

Can you tell me the alternate way to share the gprs connection via the cradle cable

Yes I know thediffrence between a Wap gateway and a I net gateway, here in India it doesn’t matter as both speeds are pathetic at 2kbps no difference and like u said yes I can’t access MSN etc COs only the 8080 port is available via Wap so I cant use the instant messenger that’s ok with me.I know the procedure to connect via gprs as I ve used the Wap gateway for over a year now using a nokia 6600,6630 and a Motorola V 3 Razor.I can say I m an expert on the nokia.this pocket pc is new completely and slightly more complicated to use-never the less far more powerfull.
Legal or not doesn’t matter. converted in dollars a Wap connection costs 2$ a full I net gprs costs 15$ both run at the same speed u tell me which is better

Oh yes, the "great" Microsoft Bluetooth BT stack on the I-Mate/Magician... however, there is a solution, which is even better than the (missing) DUN BT profile because it can be used not only over BT but also over USB (that is, via the cradle) and IrDA. Please readhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20025 on this.

Incidentally, you may want to consider upgrading your BT stack to something better; I've explained this at, say,http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=344212

With any PIE plug-in, yes. Please read my roundup of them at, say,http://www.firstloox.org//forums/showthread.php?p=28567

It should work. What happened? Why didn't it start? Did you also try installing it into main memory?

Are you sure you've followed the tutorial athttp://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=20025 ?

start the modem application and select bluetooth (the APN setting is alright already). Klick on start. Now you have to initiate the connection from the PC. Connect to the dial up profile of your PPC. Then should a normal DUN dialog be displayed, allowing you to enter the password, number etc. These informations are given by your provider.

On the PC, go to control panel > phone and modem options and select the properties of the modem installed for the Magician - I am on XP SP2 and it is installed as a 'Standard modem over bluetooth link'.

On the advanced tab, enter +CGDCONT=1,"IP","Internet" and then set the Dial-up number in you network connection to *99# - that is it.
