iPAQ 3950 Pocket PC 2003 Update and also Restore Back to Pocket PC 2002.
FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove device from cradle and put in "Serial Mode." :To do this, press the POWER button, button 2, button 4 and the software reset button at the same time.
You must stop Activesync. :To do this, check your running processes and kill WCESCOMM.EXE.
Execute "romupdate" from the same directory as the "nb0" files is in.
f you have your cradle connected with the USB, use the drop-down box and change the COM port to \\\WCEUSBSH001. Do not change anything else on the screen and hit OK. (If you don't see this option then you probably didn't kill Activesync).
This should take you to a terminal screen. Hit <RETURN> a couple of times and you should see the USB prompt.
To update the ROM, type "lnb 2003.nb0" or "lnb 2002.nb0"
The upload should start and you should see asterisks and some sort of symbol.It will let you know when it is finished.
I was wondering if you could help me, as i have problems getting the update to start.

this is what i typed:

For a help screen, use command ? or h
You are very close, maybe this is missing, type password BOOTLOADER
I read at resco.net
# When the program starts press enter a couple of times until the prompt USB> will be shown
# Type: password BOOTLOADER You should see this.
Here some extra information:
Load MultiTTY. Select "\\.\WCEUSBH00? from the dropdown list (if you dont see this activesync is probably still active). you should now see a white screen. press enter to display the "USB>" prompt
type 'h' for a list of commands. NOTE: most of the commands are locked out and dont appear in this 'h' menu. to unlock them you need the device password. im not sure if this is the same for every device but mine was "CPQHAMMER" (to find your device password type "mb 7500 11", which displays the memory dump at location 7500h).
if the password was correct the device should return "PASS". now if you type 'h full' it will display the complete list of commands.
I am very lucky to see the ppc2003 rom for 3950 you offer
on the web.but it is very bad the megadownload do not allow
user in taiwan to download the file.
It will be very kind if you can inform me another place to download.

You also try it with Emule, you can find the same one. Emule is like
Kazaa etc.
If you know an other site to share what is no problem in Taiwan, I will put it there.
Ps. I read at some site that you have to rename it to nk.nb0

Yes it works with a person I gave a few weeks ago.
You have to read the readme and know a little bit of computers.
\\\WCEUSBSH001 can also be \\\WCEUSBSH002 or \\\WCEUSBSH003 etc.
