Copies for Judges

I'm curious about how the judges are getting copies of software for the awards process. Are they getting them free from handango or are they actually purchasing them (with their or someone else's money)?

Please read www.pocketpcmag.com/awards. They are getting codes from Handango. However, it is for evaluation purposes. Handango instructs: "3. Remove the software from your device when you are finished testing the
application." I know of one judge just after a week of judging who already has purchased a product that he liked so much.

Our first three year's we did this without Handango's help and the judging was not nearly as effective.

Thanks for the reply Hal...

I thought I had seen that about Handango, but I was confused by several purchase notifications from Handango that look like real purchases - but with descriptions and codes that refer to the awards...

I guess it's just the way they do it - show a sale, then revoke the credit.

As long as the judges get what they need, I'm good.

Handango sent out a message to all vendors using an E-mail list that we had. Did you get that notice. Our notice announcing Nominees with graphic and feedback options?

If not privately E-mail me at hal@thaddeus.com. Thanks!
