Hi everyone. I am new to the handheld world and am looking for a good place to reach out for advice. I chose this forum because it is specifically geared toward Pocket PCs and that is what I have for my classroom. Is anyone out there using Pocket PCs in the classroom also? I'd like to know how it is working out and what kinds of programs are good.

I use a handheld in the classroom as a student, and I could share what I have learned about it with you. I dont know if you're looking for a student perspective or a teacher though.

I have a website about using Pocket PCs in the classroom - my experiences and rantings at www.pocketedfutures.com . Another great resource is Tony Vincent's Learning in Hand www.learninginhand.com . Fantastic education software is the GoKnow Handheld Learning Environment - www.goknow.com
Good Luck

I would love to hear from a student. Tell me the good and bad. I teach high school English. Give me some ways you would like to see a teacher use the handheld. I actually never thought of getting a student's perspective-what a great idea!

Ian,
Thanks for the info. I've actually already been to learning in hand and go know, both excellent resources. I want to hear about real life experiences. How other high school English teachers are using handhelds. What's out there for IPAQs, since everything seems to be geared for Palms, etc..
I will check out your site as well.
Thanks.

PNation,
Other resources to checkout would be the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) website dealing with handheld computing:http://www.iste.org/sighc
Another good site is run by Grahm Brown-Martin in the UK:http://www.handheldlearning.co.uk/
This site has a number of articles that are posted by contributing authors as well as a forum dedicated strictly to education.
