I purchased a Dell Axim X5 in December of 2002. It has worked like a charm! I recently had the touch screen replaced by PocketPC Techs. They did a great job!
When I received my Axim back from PocketPC Techs, I was missing one of the rubber feet (screw covers) on the back. After checking several Dell forums, I found a part number (2y350) and called Dell's spare parts hotline. They sent out the part and it turned out to be the rubber bumper on the side of the Axim. When Dell tried to correct the problem, they sent me the same wrong part!
After several phone calls to Dell, no one in either customer service or tech support could find this part! It turns out the the original part number (2y350) has been assigned to the rubber bumpers on the side and no one at Dell can get the correct part number for the rubber feet (screw cover)on the back!
I am hoping that someone can help me track down a rubber foot for my Dell Axim X5. It is very frustrating that my Axim sits uneven on a flat surface and moves when you try to use it. I am also very frustrated that Dell cannot give me the correct part number.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
