Hi,
I have just purchased a palm treo 750 (i'm in Australia). Before purchasing this I was told that I could access wireless hotspots and browse the internet for free. I have played around for hrs trying to set it up on my home wireless internet and I am unable to work out how.
At the moment I have one connection with is Telstra 3G which provides me with my phone calls and my foxtel TV. I'd imagine I have to create a new connection and switch to this when I want to use the home connection.
When i go in to create a new connection I have a choice of the following type of connection (This is under the connections tab)
cellular line
cellular line(gprs, 3g)
Generic irda
hayes compatible on COM1
for any one I select I am then prompted to enter a phone number.... I want to connect to my wireless, not use the phone as a modem.
When I goto wireless manager I just get an option to turn the bluetooth on or off and the phone on or off.
Doe anyone know how to connect this phone to a local area network allowing it to use a home internet connection instead of being charged premium rates by telstra??
Please help!!
even if I have to purchase software to do this, or any freeware stuff available... surely there's something to allow me to connect to my LAN?
