I use my 200LX Palmtop every day for personal and business use.
In business I get a lot of questions about what I'm using. This is my business calendar and not taker. I'm a support person for many small business clients. I'm able to store settings for firewalls, email parameters and , in a secure DOS based database, user names and passwords. They are amazed that I can bring up needed information so fast.
Personally I use the calendar, games, and other useful applications,
I've looked at most of the newer devices out there and I can't see how they are practical for real needed purposes. My cell phone is a phone. My watch is a watch, although it is a Timex Data Link. My car is a car. I don't want everything in one device.
I do have a backup 200LX, just in case. I'll be sending this off to Hal and company for an upgrade to Double Speed shortly.
I have yet to see anything that compares on speed of startup and usefulness.

Nice to hear from you, Paul.
That's amazing that a 10 year old device in this day and age is still your (and a lot of others) handheld of choice. Because of our business, I have had many devices since the 200LX. I still miss the calculator, the database, and full Lotus 1-2-3.
However, I am used to Wi-Fi and cellular for E-mail and having music and audiocasts on my Windows Mobile devices. I also like the ability to sync Outlook with my device. I don't know that I could go back.

I love my AT&T 8525 and my HP iPaq hx2795, but I admit the full keyboard on my Jornada is great to have around when doing some writing on the road. I do have a wireless keyboard for my 8525 and 2795 now, but I still like using the 720 quite a bit.

Dale have you ever tried an MS-DOS HP 200LX. In many ways it was superior to the 720 (lighter, 2AA batteries, more self-sufficient, awesome built-in software, etc).

I saw them on used handhelds. The two months on the AA batteries really intrigues me. I need to give one a try.
