Sorry I missed this one...Here are some suggestions.
If the button does not work, perhaps you can set up another way. For example, can you set up an email account on the device's email application? Also, you might try Opera for Mobiles. It gives you an internet experience that is closer to that of a desktop computer. I have a forum I sometimes visit, and I am unable to log in with PIE but I can with Opera.

I have a 2795 and when I'm using PIE at the Yahoo mobile website I don't have any problems sending or receiving email.
