For a reason I cannot understand my qtek9100 only recharges the battery when the device is already running windows. The fact is that my battery has gone completely empty and therefore I cannot turn my device on. Because I cannot turn my device on, windows cannot boot and therefore the battery never begins to recharge. So I find myself into a circle I cannot break.
I have tried to plug the usb cable with the device off, hoping that is only the light that does not work, but the battery would not recharge. What is going on? Is there a way to recharge the battery without turning on the device? Please help me! Very important information is in its memory!
Thanx.

I looked up this issue and found references to this problem. It seems that some others have had similar issues when the battery goes completely bad. You may need to get a new battery. Some devices will not work, even plugged in, if the battery is bad or missing.

Did you try this with the factory wall charger or "only" with a miniUSB cable connected to a computer? If only the latter, give a try to the former because it provides far more juice and might be able to "kick in" the recharge process.
This, BTW, is too explained in some of my articles on my blog - see the Battery care and recharging category.

I solved the problem simply buying a special battery charger. You just put the battery in, plug the thing with a usb cable and it recharges the battery. It cost me $15. Thanks for your kind consideration.

I had a similar problem with a device once and it turned out that someone had pulled the cord out of the wall socket by the cord and the wires inside separated, thus it would not charge. I did the same, I bought a different charger and it went fine.
