I received 2 for our business yesterday and have been glued to them since. Here are some highlights:

It comes with:
Cradle
USB - USB mini cable
USB power cable (one end is a plug the other a miniUSB)
Earphones with mic
Documentation & ActiveSync 4
Belt Clip Pouch

Although they advertise Gotomypc on Sprints site, it is only a trial version

Screen is bright and switches flawlessly to landscape when you open the keyboard

One bad part of the keyboard is that when you have it locked to do numbers, it disables the backspace key and switches it to delete instead.

The manual says you can press the camera button to activate the camera function, but that has not worked. I have to go through the Start menu

Very new, so no support out there yet for either Mobile 5 or from Sprint.

WiFi works very well!

New joystick is easy to use.

Syncs well with our Exchange Server

Fully charges in only 4 hours.

It is thick, but I don't care

I have not been able to get the bluetooth to remain paired with my BMW, but that could be the cars software.

On the screen you can click to download and install Business Connect for email, but when you do you find that Sprint has not yet created that website.

Headphones are crummy when it comes to bass on mp3 files, but I have used it with my YahooUnlimited account so it definitely supports the Pay for Sure license for them, Napster, Rhapsody, etc.

I have downloaded one application ( a reader app) and it seems to work without a problem even though it is made for 2003.

Love the phone! Can't wait for more support and a bigger user base!

Cool, I ordered mine today. I'll let you know what I think

Full user opinion ~ I have been using this as my sole cell phone and PDA since Monday 9-19-05.
By & large, this is a great unit. I believe I am indeed holding in my hand, the true next generation PDA/phone. If you are reading the blogs and forums, then you have obviously already read everything this unit does great. Here are a few personal experiences as well as rebuttals you may wish to consider before you drop up to $649.00.

The battery life or lack thereof seems to be most people’s main issue. This does not concern me for two reasons.

1. It is reported that with the New Windows Memory architecture, you are able to R & R the battery without loosing any setup parameters, settings or data. You may therefore, swap batteries as many times as you like without loosing any more than the time than it takes to swap the battery. I have had mine since Monday 9-19 and honestly, even though I use it heavily, I have not yet run he battery out between available wall receptacles or car trips.

2. Mini USB chargers for wall, car and solar energy sources are readily available. If you can afford this unit, you should be able to afford those too. It will charge andf sync with a simple direct USB to MIni USB cable. The cradle is just something convenient to take up more room on your desk. I have trouble fully seating mine in the dock/cradle without accidentally hitting the power button on the top left.

My biggest peeve is that though they claim this unit has 64 MB of RAM what they don't tell you is that only 43.5 MB is usable. I am therefore led to conclude, that the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS and other bundled programs consume 16.5 MB. Having come from an iPAQ HX4700, I find this falls vastly short of meeting my requirements. I have yet to procure a mini SD card and have yet to hear from ANYONE as to whether data on the card will sync with a PC using active sync 4.0. If it’s like it used to be, the answer is no. This will require a lot of creative shuffling in order to keep files and documents at home, the laptop and on the PPC-6700 all up to date. If anyone has tried this unit with a mini SD card, please let us know how it responds!

The phone works well however, the speaker lacks sufficient volume to use in real life situations anyplace other then in a church or a library. (In others words, in a real quiet place).

The 128 MB flash ROM seems plenty sufficient to handle every web site I have attempted to access.

Two interesting items which seem to fall into the “How did we let that happen category” are:
A. The support number listed twice in the Sprint Installation Guide which ships with the PPC-6700, rings into Samsung Telecommunications America and not to HTC who actually manufactures the unit or to UT Starcom Personal Communications (Formerly Audiovox).

B. In the phone “function” menu, the function of the “Speaker On” button is reversed. This is to say that you have to toggle to “Speaker Off” in order to use the Speaker Phone function and visa-versa.

A foot note of contradiction to a recent popular myth - Sprint would NOT grandfather in my unlimited vision services because EVDO is different and a step advanced from vision. I was told that I could stay with the grandfathered unlimited vision however, would NOT be able to get the high speed connection but rather the same old slow vision.

Windows Mobile 5.0 ~ Hmm… The jury is still out. I don’t like that you can’t manage your memory allocation as you can with CE 2003.

Though you are "Supposed" to be able to do so. No one yet at Sprint or Audiovox has yet been able to figure out how to "push" AOL mail though Sprint's exchange server.

All in all, I think I’ll keep it but may remain frustrated until someone comes up with a way to dump at least another 64 or 128 MB of RAM into it!

Oh By the way... If you are not yet a Sprint customer, you can buy one of these babies’s on eBay for only $349.00 after rebates with free shipping if you don't have a problem with committing to a 2 year contact.

Mine 6700 is being shipped today and I will receive it tomorrow. I'm very excited!!!

Review Part 2

-Noticed today that after extended conversations not using a headset that the screen gets blurry and washed out. This is due to the heat from your face, and the screen returns to normal once it cools back down. Also, as with other big screen devices, my oily skin leaves a nice residew. Anyone know of a good screen cleaning cloth/device for this?

-I get my MiniSD card tomorrow, so I will test out the sync question from earlier.

-The jack for headphones/mic is a standard cellphone jack (3/32") so I have bought an adaptor at Radio Shck for regular walkman headphones (1/8") since the ones that come with it sound terrible with music.

-I will next be putting an entire episode of The Office on it to test video. (1gb miniSD card)

-I still cannot get bluetooth to stay on in my car. It pairs with my car, then the phone drops the connection until a call comes in at which point it activates and I can talk to people through my car mike and speakers, but then it drops that connection after 30 seconds. Frustrating.

-Even though business connect is not up and running, I have configured to use sprints web email and my corporate exchange server for email, however the synced outlook account and the remote sprint account act seperately so I have two copies of all my messages, each in their own account. If someone knows how to merge these I would love to know.

-We have two of these in our office and both have had one strange thing happen. Occasionaly when you push the power button to activate the screen it only comes on in dim mode. Don't know why.

-Still love the phone![:D]

I'm interested in hearing more about your experiences with this phone, since I'm considering getting it. My contract with T-Mobile expires in 2 weeks, and while I'll still have service on month-to-month afterwards, I'd rather move to a new carrier sooner rather than later. Sprint seems like the best for me from my research; Verizon's the only real alternate and they're twice as expensive. When I make the switch, I'll need a new phone... and this seems to be the top of the line pocket pc phone Sprint's going to have for quite some time, unless something like the Motorola Q or the HTC Wizard or Universal is going to come out for Sprint sooner rather than later.

I have a few specific questions regarding things I've heard about the phone, as well as things I just thought up on my own. If any of you who actually have the phones can answer these, it would be great.

1. I've heard that the PPC 6700 lets you turn the phone, wi-fi, and bluetooth radios on and off individually, which if true would probably make it the only phone in existence that lets you take calls while connected to wi-fi. Is that accurate?

2. scepter says how he has trouble getting the bluetooth to work with his car. What about other bluetooth devices? Does it work fine with bluetooth headphones and such, or do you need something specifically made for this phone?

3. How much of the flash memory is taken up by Windows and the preinstalled software? Is the advertised 128 MB after all that, or is it more like 64 MB?

4. For those of you who have been using this phone for a while now, does the slideout keyboard still seem sturdy and well put together?

5. I've never used a phone with mini-SD before. How fast is the mini-SD access on this phone?

6. The thickness isn't much of an issue to me, but taking the size of the phone as a whole, how easily does it slip into your pocket?

Thanks in advance!

Howdy Fuzzypaws!

1. Yes, you can turn your connections on and off individually which is nice if you are trying to save on your battery or don't want to be bugged with constant wireless networks appearing on your phone as you walk through stores. I have not had the occasion to use wireless while talking on the phone but I haven't had wireless trun off while talking either. I imagine you could be surfing the net while talking to your friend on your bluetooth headset.

2. I have not yet purchased a bluetooth headset, but I imagine that this is one of the main reasons they included bluetooth on the phone. I wouldn't worry to much about it not working properly with my BMW since it could very well be their software (they only support a limited variety of phones)

3. Sorry I don't have the memory answer for you. I have already installed several programs on my phone so I can't give you an "out of the box" figure. Currently my phone shows 43.50mb total storage memory and 49.42 total program memory.

4. Many review state that the slide keyboard is a worry for them, but I don't see why. It works just fine for me and I don't see it failing any time soon. You have two rails it travels on as it slides out and at the end of the slide in both directions it locks into place. You need to make sure that both rails lock, but it is not something you even think about. (when I say lock I mean clicks into place)

5. I have a 1gb minisd card in my phone and have been testing it with video. I took an entire episode of The Office and ran it through windows movie maker 2 (free) to compress it down to pocket pc size. It runs smoothly and clear from the memory card. The 23 minute episode took 32 megabytes, but you could play with the quality of the video to get that down even more. The drawback to memory cards is that Active Sync 4.0 does not allow you to sync with data on the card so you must manually update documents, songs, video, etc. This has not proven to be a big deal to me.

6. Yes it is thick, but worth it for the keyboard. I always carry mine on the included belt clip to protect the screen, but it would fit okay in your pocket as long as you are not wear tight jeans or something.

7. If I didn't mention it before, because it uses windows media player, it is play for sure compatible for napster, yahoo unlimited, rhapsody, etc. Although I have not tried all of these services, it works fine with my YahooUnlimited account. I had to special order a headphone jack to convert it from a small size to a standard mini jack size and I hope it comes this week.

8. Another issue is that the speaker on the back is of course the same speaker your ringer uses. In the supplied belt clip, that speaker is covered and definitely makes it hard to hear calls coming in. I may cut our that portion of my clip or punch holes in it to allow the sound to come out.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

(Peoples eyes get big when they see it, so get ready for some attention)

Use MobSync to do this.

There is a point there in this: you wouldn't want to allocate ROM to act as dynamic RAM because, then, your PPC would become even a hundred times slower. Now, you have the entire RAM to run programs, unlike in previous versions, where it was also used as a storage area. This is why there's no slider any more.

Any specs-cleaning cloth (even ones with alcohol) will do.

According to this review, it has 43.50MB of storage memory and 40.42 MB available program memory (the 49.42 total program memory can't be entirely used). The latter is pretty good for a WM5 device - after all, the Dell Axim x51v only has 32Mbytes free (of 64M RAM), as opposed to the x50v + WM2003SE, which had 61M available of the 64M RAM. In addition, the HTC Universal (Jasjar) seem to have really severe bugs, RAM size-wise; please read this thread on these.

All in all, you should be happy with the 40.42 MB available program memory - Jasjar/x51v users have even less [:)]

I love my 6700!!!!!!!!!! I thought the Treo 650 was the ultimate machine.......until I got this baby. I have been a long time palm user and finally turned to "the dark side". I can't really figure out why people say that! I have had mine a week and not one problem. No resets. No crashes. Nothing!!! Straight forward device that does it all. Anyone who gets a 6700 will not be sorry. I have a job that involves alot of driving. You would be surpized how many non-encrypted residential wifi systems are there to grab a broadband signal from ;)

Fortunately, 'whydidnt' over at PPCT has described the current HTC Universal situation (see the posts starting at Oct 04, 2005 5:29 pm GMT). Unfortunately, Jasjar (HTC Universal) seems to be having serious RAM memory problems. You are strongly recommended to read these posts if you have a Universal or want to have a picture of how WM5 handles memory.

Excerpts:

"I would say that report is generally correct, it would appear that WM5 loads the entire PIM database into RAM at reset, so depending on the size of your db it could take up substantial memory. After a soft reset I have 30.21 free storage and 28.87 free Program memory. I loaded a couple programs to storage (TCMP & PI), so I'm using 2.67 MB of storage ROM with my own programs, but I uninstalled Skype, CA AntiVirus and Backgammon, which had been taking up about 7 MB of space after a hard reseet. They are obviously taking up that much space of the extended ROM too, what a waste.

Regarding the RAM - I installed the upgraded ROM found at Club i-mate and was rewarded with about 2.5 MB more available RAM. They changed the program partition, so it's only taking up about 14 MB of space now. After flashing the ROM - which includes a hard reset there was about 19 MB of RAM in use - total available was right under 30 MB. After synchronizing my PIM apps (not loading any programs) and doing a soft reset, I lost about 3 MB's of RAM - as 22.09 MB are now in use, leaving the 28.7 available to execute additional programs. This is why I think the PIM db's are copied to RAM on boot.

It is my opinion that WM5 is much less efficient at managing memory and 64 MB of RAM is not sufficient for power users."

Second post:

"I also have to add that I still don't understand why there is ~14 MB of RAM reserved on boot. What is that used for? I could understand if the OS was loaded there, but that doesn't seem to be the case, since over 20 MB of other RAM is also consumed on boot up. With WM2003SE, my 4700 (also VGA) only consumed about 13 MB of space after a reboot. WM5 is taking up a whopping 36 MB of RAM just after boot."

My answer to the latter:
WM5 is much more wasteful with memory, compared even to WM2003SE.

For example, some comparison:

x50v (64M RAM), WM2003SE, available RAM: 61.75M
x51v (64M RAM), WM5, available RAM: 32.65M (source: FirstLoox)
PPC 6700 (64M RAM), WM5, available RAM: 40.42M (source: PhoneArena)

Awesome. It looks like this phone really is "the one," then. I can barely wait for my current contract to expire. =)

Thanks for the information!

Battery is horrible. Other phones I would charge over night and it would last all day. I took mine off the charge at 7:00am before work and it is now 8:22am and it says it is only at 40%. that is really bad. I wonder if mine is defective. No matter how great the rest is, if it does not work is is of no use to me.[V]

It must be defective, unless you run an app with over 90% CPU utilization with, additionally, the Wi-Fi unit switched on.

When I connect to vision it is via a cellular connection because I am not in an evdo area. After I'm finished my 6700 stays connected unless I manually tyrn off the phone. There is no disconnect option when you press the connection icon at the top of the screen (help screen says a disconnect option should be there). Any other 6700 owners having this problem?

I have not had the battery issue. In fact I have been pleasantly surprised at how long it does last.

I don't leave wireless and bluetooth on which helps, and I made sure to follow the initial battery instructions. (charge for so long, let it power down completely 3 times, etc)

You may have a faulty battery

That's a good point. Whether or not you fully charge and discharge a battery the first few times you use it does seem to have a fairly big impact on its future performance. And not just cell phone batteries either.

Well, opinions certainly differ on this question. Please read this thread on the subject.

Thanks for all the replies. I received my phone about two weeks ago and I love it. I did have a question about Voice Command and WM 5which Hall Goldstein answered. VC is an option with WM 5 and is not included with the ppc 6700. This probably because Sprint sells it's own VC option for $5.00 per month. I purchased it and it works pretty well even with bluetooth headset. But I wish I could assign a dialing keystroke series to the record botton. You need to dial
" * call " to access the VC service. If I could press the record button and speed dial it, I be a happy boy.

Also, have mini sd card, loaded it and inserted into the 6700 - however system does not recognize the card. Has this happened to anyone? I'm contacting support as well.

Can anyone help me? I use yahoo mail on my laptop, but when I use it on the 6700 some of the links do not work, such as the "check mail" "Compose" is there anyway that I can resolve this, and what is the reason for this. thanks

Please read my PPCMag Expert Blog entry athttp://www.smartphonemag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=318&more=1 ; I've devoted quite a few blog posts to Yahoo Mail.

thanks for the quick responce Menneisyys

This is the first Windows based handheld I've ever owned, and the first PDA Phone ever. I am happy with the overall perfomance, however I have a few peeves.

There doesn't seem to be a way to disconnect from the BT headset quickly during a call.
I can't start a new document in Word Mobile. I get an error message that just says a problem with the document was encountered.
The external speaker is not nearly loud enough.
Battery life is atrocious for heavy users like me. Although I did read and that could very well be my fault however I can't find an extended battery, yet.
It only registers 119.75MB of my 1G card!(ANY help with this one would be much appreciated.)
No voice dial.
My VM4500 had a much better photo/video light(4 LEDs vs 1).
No Ready Link.
I was able to instal AOL Instant Messenger, but it will not allow me to connect citing a current connection from the same IP address.
Internet explorer button only takes you to the default page, not your home page or last displayed.
Although I am able to play audio only files, I personally haven't been able to open any video file with the media player. I always get an error message.

There's a long list of issuses, but I do understand that it is a new (microsoft) operating system and that most problems that plague them can be circumvented one way or another. All in all I do enjoy the new equipment, and I'm happy with my purchase.

Any assistance with the issues listed here is appreciated in advance.

If you have a card reader in your PC, issue the chkdsk drivename: /f command. If you don't have and/or you don't have anything valuable on the card, just format it. Please readhttp://smartphonemag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17921 on the latter.

That's because your ISP has assigned the same IP to some other users as well, who may also use AOL Instant Messenger. This is why AOL is thinking someone is trying to log in with several clients. A solution is expalining the situration to AOL and asking them to remove this restriction.

You have to explicitly set the PIE homepage: load the page you want to displayas first, go to Tools/Options and click Use Current.

Thank you very much, Menneisyys. Your help has gone a long way. I did try to format the first card I had and it still showed the same. This time it worked perfectly. I am installing the media player as we speak. We'll see how things turn out.

How does the PPC-6700 compare with the I-mate K-jam? Are there any other comparable phones?

I've had mines for about three weeks now, I have no problems with my 512 minisd card; blue tooth headphone, or my battery. however I can't view the flash that comes in my Email. Also the buttons dont seem to lock so I'm always commanding the phone to do somthing by mistake just from hitting the pouch. I do love the phone, I have been glued to it, and I would buy it again.

Unfortunately, the lack of any ability to truly lock the phone (or stop it from auto-waking when checking email) is a fault of Windows Mobile 5 and so afflicts any phone with WM5, not just this one. I was able to find a screen saver that mostly works, but even that still lets the physical buttons and d-stick do things while the screen is off. Overall I love the phone and my only problems are with WM5.

Thank's [:)] Fuzz. I'm hoping some1 will respond about the Email.

E-mail is text-only unless you use a more advanced mail reader like WebIS Mail. This is why you don't see any flash animations/images in them (if you meant that by them).

I am writing to you from my ppc~6700, overall I am very happy with the device and it features. however I do have one question I'm hoping you can help me with.

whenever I attempt to download any programs such as aol instant messenger or any .exe file it states that .exe is not a recognized format. I was curious if there is any other options for downloading programs.

I just returned 2 of them. Both very buggy, phone keeps turning off, back light changed on one a few times to 0 in batery mode, so you couldn’t see the screen. One wouldn’t wake up by taping screen. Some other weird buggy stuff not worth getting into.

The worst thing was that no software would install unless it was @ the SPRINT store or its affiliate. The applications that were available were slim Pickens. They. didn’t support any kind of java or flash and couldn’t install any that was made for pocket PC. So you couldn’t see lots of sites. Couldn’t log onto AOL

Cant hear ring tones, Cant hear who your talking to, Cant hear on speaker phone, cant hear on Blue tooth.

Only thing you can hear on is the wired stereo head set it comes with.

Camera 1.3 meg pix but whatever your taking a pic of better not move or it will be a Blur. Couldn’t watch movie clips unless it was @ Microsoft site,.,.ect ect ect ect

Thankx Menneisyys, You hit me in the wright spot with the answer.

That is just the rub. With my Ipaq, I could elect to connect to "Preferred Devices Only" and not be nagged as I entered a Wifi radio signal. But not now. My other complaint is that when I enter a WEP code, it only lasts for the session.

With my 4700 (which was replaced with this phone) I had hotel wep codes 3 months old and would return to find them still valid.

Everything has gotten pretty quiet so I will add my two cents.
I have stated my Wifi complaint above.

Also, placing the head-mic jack on the bottom of the unit was a very poor engineering decision. I would like to be able to connect a headset to my phone, even while it is in the cradle!

- I don't understand the Speed dial!? What does it accomplish. It seems I have to go to the SPeed Dial screen to use them. That is not very "speedy".

- I don't like the fact that one hand dialing is essentially impossible. Pressing the Phone buttom should at least start the system and take me to the Phone page.

For all I know, these things are do-able but not documented (like the camera button above). So please chime in if you know how to accomplish or resolve these issues.

Hello, new user Captain Kirk here. Message to Scepter - you say you have a 1GB mini sd card and have been using it with apparently no problems. I am having problems getting my PPC-6700 to recognize my Kingston 1GB card. Each time I try to check memory:

>start>settings>system>memory>storage card …. The screen freezes and I have to do a soft re-boot.

Ok that scenario happened about 6 times last night. But I just removed and replaced the card and now for some odd reason the PPC recognized the card!! Ok now it’s frozen again. Plus the entire OS system seems to run slower since adding the card. Haven't tried any other cards in the PPC, nor have i tried this card in any other card readers. Bad card? Any suggestions?

I have a Sandisk 1gig card and have not run into the problems you are describing. If you have other cards to test, even if they aren't the same size, it may indicate if it is a bad card, or if you got it locally you may want to exchange it just to check.

I initially had problems with my miniSD card as well. But I put the card in my laptop, reformatted it, put it back in my PPC and now it works fine. Hope this helps.

- I don't understand the Speed dial!? What does it accomplish. It seems I have to go to the SPeed Dial screen to use them. That is not very "speedy".

Push and hold the speed dial number, after about 2 secs it dials the number!

I just got the ppc-6700 and generally like it, but have had an odd problem the past 24 hours and can't find an answer. The speaker doesn't work. I can make and receive calls, but I can't hear the caller and the caller can't hear me. I also can't get the speaker phone to pick up. Any ideas on what's wrong? It's baffling.

Dude...I just started having the same problem tonight...did you get it fixed??? What did you do???
Thanks

Regarding batt life: try going into settings/connections/settings and turning down the power usage. if you leave your phone in seek mode ( regarding wi-fi) it uses more power trying to esablish / keep your network connection. I have been able to extend my battery time out 5 hours with normal use both surfing and talking at the same time after turning the performance down some. The only place i notice the lower power/performance change is on loading new apps.
I can also say that if your having sync issues with this unit you will need to look at the local firewall. If running windows wall you will want to make sure that "do not allow exceptions" is unchecked. also, make sure ICS is running on the machine ( only an issue if your running a diff firewall and you shut down connection sharing.

hope it helps

OK, I give up! I may not be the smartest guy all the time, but I'm stumped.

The local Sprint rep gave me a PPC6700 to try out over the weekend. I already have Sprint cell phone and a separate Viewsonic Pocket PC v37, so the idea of a convergence device is right up my alley.

I'm trying to connect to my home wireless network, but all the instructions I find in the documentation seem to either direct me as if I'm using a modem (with phone numbers, etc.) or ask me for user names and passwords which I have never used to connect to my home wireless network (which requires only the proper encryption type and key value). My wireless router is 802.11b/g with WPA-PSK encrytion.

Also there are about eight different network card devices listed. Which one should I use to connect to my NetGear wireless router?

If someone could provide a step-by-step setup guide for a connection such as I'm trying to make, it might be a great help to many other users. It might also prove useful for someone trying to make a connection to a free wireless hotspot.

Thanks for any assistance!!!

Dr. Technical,

I'm no genius, and have only had the phone a couple of weeks, but I've got mine auto-connecting to both my work network (802.11g WPA-PSK 63 character gibberish password) and my home network (802.11g WPA-PSK 12 character obscure password) and it bounces back and forth with no problems.

1) Make sure the phone isn't docked to the PC

2) Go to Start/Settings and then click on the Connections tab

3) Click on the "Network Cards" icon

4) Click on "Add New..." at the top

5) Specify the network name and network connection (most likely "The Internet")

6) Click on the Network Key tab, choose the authentication, encryption type, and network key (Note: you will not be able to "paste" the key from another application. This is especially annoying if you, like me, use a really long, gibberish-text key.)

7) If you mess up, go back to the "Configure Wireless Networks" tab, click and hold over the network you've added, and choose "Remove Settings"

That should do it. If you need more info, just ask.

Tim

One Handed Speed-Dial.

I've had my new 6700 for two days now and almost took it back because of the phone features. I make calls while driving and like to use speed-dial by touch so that I can keep my eyes on the road. Well, that is dang-near impossible with this device; until now.

On a whim, I tried the following and it works pretty darn well for me. There is one condition; when you power on your device, it must go to the today screen (no owner info screen and no device lock). Otherewise, you will need to modify these steps.

From a powered off condition (can also be powered on)
1) Holding 6700 in left hand, open keypad by sliding display to the right with your left hand thumb.
2) Wait about 2 or 3 seconds for 6700 to power up. (the today screen should now be displayed)
3) Press and hold any numeric key on the keypad until the phone dials (about 2 seconds)
Notes: You do NOT have to do anything extra to lock the keypad into numeric mode.
The number you press should already be programmed as a speed-dial number :)
This only seems to work for single digit (1-9) speed-dial numbers.
4) Close the keypad if desired and continue conversation.

Note: I leave the keypad open when calling voice-mail so that I can use the the number keys for voice mail commands.

I prefer this method since I can do everything by touch and keep my eyes on the road :)

Have a GREAT day!!!
