Stop annoying pop-up messages from Startup folder

I use an iPAQ rx3715 Pocket PC and have been getting a message after virtually every backup and reset, telling me that “KBcurrentIM” is missing. Can anyone shed some light on how to fix this annoying problem?

chipbryan

In File Explorer, go to \Windows\Startup and delete it there.

Problem solved—I went to Windows\Startup and cleared out all the junk—and voila—no more message.

Try a new battery before ditching that old PDA

I have added GPS capability to my HP iPAQ by installing Garmin GPS software on the device and using Garmin’s Bluetooth GPS receiver with it. After using it twice, my iPAQ won’t turn on. I have tried a soft and hard reset and nothing is bringing it back. Is my Pocket PC dead in the water? Any suggestions?

I once had a walkie-talkie with a bad battery. I could not get it to turn on until I replaced the battery. If you have a spare battery for the iPAQ, you might give it a try.

It worked. It was the battery. Thank you!

Use the freeware MobSync to sync individual files

I’m a newcomer to Windows Mobile and am trying to get my new device set up so it can replace my old Palm. No matter what I do with ActiveSync’s Settings, however, the Files synchronization is one directional: files on the PC are copied to the device, overwriting any changes I made to the documents on the Pocket PC. This happens every time I sync. Any advice?

HunterGreen

MobSyncMobSync allows you to sync any file or folder between your desktop PC and PDA.
