We need Jornadas in any condition!

A company has approached us at www.UsedHandhelds.com. They need a part built into the Jornada 720 and will buy as many as we can find.

That means we can pay $20 per Jornada in any condition (don't need accessories, battery or stylus). You can E-mail me if you wish at hal@thaddeus.com, or just send them to

Used Handhelds
Thaddeus Computing
110 N. Court St.
Fairfield, IA 52556

Be sure to include a copy of this post. We'll send you a check within a week. THANKS!

Jornada lovers here is a possible upgrade to a full Vista computer in your pocket...

I owned HP Jornada's and loved them and searched for years to upgrade with no luck until now. I know it is not perfect as it does not have a keyboard as nice but still it is the best I found so far after years of searching. The Sharp Willcom D4 is about the same size as a Jornada just a bit narrower, runs full Vista and does so very well, only negative is the extended battery is a must and while still jacket size only gives 3 hours of juice. Plus is it is full Vista so you can run any application so while it is not the same as CE it provides what many like me might f

AA battery adapter for 720?

Hey, all -

Since I couldn't come up with a $30 MobilePro for my daughter, Newbie52 was kind enough to let go of her j720 (with 2 USB cradles, 2 batteries, and a desktop charger) for $40! (Thanks, Jean). But, for my 4-year old, it would make some sense for her to be able to use AAs (until I can help her develop a good charging routine...).

Did HP ever make a AA battery adapter for the 720? If so, does anyone have one they want to part with (cheap, of course...it's the economy.)

Thanks

Jornada 680 with Lucent Technologies WaveLAN/IEEE

Am using a Jornada 680 with Lucent Technologies WaveLAN/IEEE
Driver has been installed.
If I go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>WaveLan I get the WaveLAN/IEEE Settings.
I have Changed the WaveLAN Network Name to: the same name my laptop/desktop/router use (Why is this not called the SIDD by the way?).
I have enabled the Encription, and changed the key to the one used by all other devices.

Connectivity Issue.

Hi. I now have a Jornada 728. It came with a cradle and a USB connection wire. After installing 3.8, activating it, wiring to the cradle and placing the 728 into the cradle after turning it on, I rarely get a connection. When I do, the connection is effective and the thing syncs with my desktop. However, what I usually get is "not connected' and an "Error 678" message. I read about this somewhere else in this forum, but can't remember where. I'm guessing the problem is bad/worn contacts in the cradle.

I have a HP 690 with a Lucent WaveLan card. It works great except when I use my WiFi card I can get Yahoo, but when I try to get my Yahoo mail or MSN's Hotmail I get, "Unable to extablish secure connection." I get the same message on several other sites. When I google that error message the advice is to get an upgrade for the browser. I have the Internet Explore that came bundled with the 690. Can I do that? Should I get another browser? Try a diferent email host? I tried Canoe and a ew otheres and they don't work. Any help will be very appreciated. It woud be nice to be able to get email.

I bought a used Jornada from Usedhandhelds and have been spending weeks trying to get connected to the Internet. I have a Linksys WPC11 wireless card. I am now at a point where I have a link between the card in the Jornada and my router BUT still no connection to Internet. Thing is when I choose the WPC11: Instant Wireless Card in the "Instant Wireless Network Card Drivers settings" window in the Jornada it gets chosen but when I return after having closed the window the Aironet driver which is at the top of the list of drivers is chosen again.

"New" 565 owner has questions

Hi! Just recently acquired a used Jornada 565 and Targus keyboard, and no other peripherals (other than USB/power cradle). I did buy a 1G CF card, and all seems to work well. I do have a few questions though, and hoped someone could help me.

1. I replaced the backup battery when I got this machine, but occasionally I have a pop-up that says the backup battery is low. The power options screen show that the backup battery is good. Which do I believe?

stickykeys - toggle CTRL, ALT, SHIFT

Hello, all -
I have searched the web for a long time for an application/utility for the JORNADA 720 simmiliar to the StickyKeys option on the Windows XP CONTROL PANEL>ACCESSIBILITY OPTIONS>KEYBOARD tab.

I type notes on my JORNADA with one hand during my dialysis treatments. My other arm is immobile. Using the proper caps during data entry would save me a lot of editting time.

Jornada 720\690 Power Supplies

One man's junk is another man's treasure. My company is constantly throwing out old computer equipment. One day on my way to my car I see the dumpster is stuffed with odds and ends (I always check the dumpster. No, it's not beneath me :). I open up a box and there's two Jornada 690s and one Jornada 720, all with docking stations.

Woohoo!!! With the help of hpcfactor.com & yetanotherhomepage.com/j7xx/j7xx.html I am up and running (I love those guys, whoever they are) and Johnny's got apps. I even got Jlime Linux on a 690 (slowwww).
