CE 4.2 and Pocket Word - Excel

Is there away to have Pocket Word and Pocket Excel running on a 900C with CE 4.2? Maybe the other way around and flash the ROM on a 900 so it has CE 4.2? I saw a advertised a 900C with Pocket Word and Pocket Excel on eBay and thought if this could be done I could have the best of both worlds. I know these are probably very off the wall questions but I like Pocket Word and Excel and nothing beats the "instant on" and portability of my NEC MobilePro 900s.

Speeding Up Internet Function

Great forum, I am very glad I found this site.

My questions are regarding Internet speed / system speed improvment and software. Maybe Rich Hawley will have insight on this issue.

I have a 900 and a 900C with the following software

900C

Windows CE.NET 4.2

Firmware P530_42 1.8.5

Build Date May 6,2004

PIC Firmware ID 4.19.7

Bootloaded Version 4.5.1-6

2000-2003 BSQUARE.CORP.

Wireless connection that works perfectly.

Will Type II PC Card work with Win CE?

I'd like to find a way to add a USB port to my NEC 780. I understand that the Windows CE system will not recognize a Type II PC Card with a USB port. Is that correct? Are there cards that do? Is there any other way to add USB?
Thanks.

Mobile Pro 790

I recently acquired a Mobile Pro 790 that I was planning on using for writing. I powered it up with a full charge, wrote some material and saved it to the device( and I know I know I should have backed it up on a card), powered down and it looks like in the meantime the battery went completely dead. I recharged it and when I turned it on much to my dismay I got the "setup your mobile pro" screen. It has happened every time the battery drains, its like it wipes its little board clean.
Is this pretty standard with the Mobile Pro ? or is there some setting I don't know about.... ?

spider solitaire for mobilepro 780/790/900

[?]John, do you or maybe even Rich (or anyone else for that matter) know of a spider solitaire game that is compatible with the 780/790/900? Aside from the usual uses, my wife is addicted to the game on her pc, but she relaxes with solitaire on her 790. She was asking about putting the spider version on her machine the other day, but I can't seem to find a version anywhere that will work on it. Any thoughts?

Never give up, never surrender!

I'm still looking for a cheap ($30-ish shipped) NEC 750/770. It's for my 4-year old (5 this May) daughter. Anyone who has one around gathering dust and would like to contribute to the education of a young one, please contact me. I'd also consider a trade if I have anything someone wants (off the top of my head - a working Sony Clie TJ-37 with Wifi, an old Newton 130, maybe some other things if I dig deep enough.)

Let me know. Thanks!

I am using a Nec 790--Windows 3.0--IE VER 4.0--My PCI card is an old Lucent Technologies WaveLan using Agree drivers for Windows 3.0
All five signal bars in the task bar are lit and my connection is excellent. Every time I double tap IE icon the same message pops up "A connection with the server could not be established". I have tried everything to get this thing on line but,to no avail. Please help if you have any ideas.

Thanks much

900C Calibration Problems

Hi all,

My 900c running CMONEX's last custom OS release is having touch screen calibration problems.

When I power off my MP and power it back on, my calibration is all over the place (I can't close windows without clicking way off the screen). This happens quite often (90%) of the time. It is especially bad when I have just recharged. I always have to fix calibrate my touch screen.

What could be causing this? I am hesitant to say it is the custom OS.... When I got my MP 900c, I updated the OS pretty quickly, so it could have been a problem since day one.
