How to add your product to Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine's

How to Increase the Likelihood of Your Product Being Accepted

  • Only submit products and services that are compatible with Windows Mobile devices.
     

  • Write the first sentence of your description so that it stands alone. That way it can serve as either a brief description or caption.
     

  • Take your time in writing a short, informative, objective description of your product or service.
     

  • Don’t use marketing hype like “this is a really fun game” or unsubstantiated claims like “this is the best product out there!”
     

  • Don’t repeat the product name in the description since it will appear automatically on top of its description.
     

  • Upload an image that best shows your product's capabilities. We accept most image formats, but an animated GIF showing multiple screenshots (if you’re adding software) is preferable. Remember, a picture is worth 1,000 words!
     

  • Include the software version at the end of the product description rather than in the title.
     

  • The "Requirements/Part #" field should not be used to list which mobile operating system your software works with.
     

  • The recent addition of the "Last Major Update" field states the date when at least 10%-25% of your software has been rewritten, redesigned, or recoded. The purpose of this recent field addition is to inform the public (and award judges) to what extent the product is being actively supported and upgraded. If you leave this field empty, your product may not get the attention it deserves!
     

  • Keep your product's information up-to-date. Your product's Encyclopedia listing is displayed publicly on our site and is found using Google and other search engines. Also your product listings are used for the nomination of products in our annual Best Software Awards.
     

  • Submit only one record for software compatible with both Smartphone and Pocket PC. If your software is compatible with both Smartphone and Pocket PC simply select both checkboxes provided.

 

To Add or Update Your Product Listing:

1. Check to See if Your Company is Already Listed In the Online Encyclopedia
Go to the online Encyclopedia of Software and Accessories and check whether your company and products are listed. You can use the search feature to find your products or company quickly.


2a. If Your Company Has Not Yet Been Added:
Note: If your company has previously been added, proceed to 2b.

Step 1: Go to the Add Your Company page or click the link provided on the Vendor Identification Form.

Step 2: Submit your company information. After doing so, you will be directed back to the Vendor Identification Form.

Step 3: Use your company e-mail and name to login to the Encyclopedia Product Addition and Update form.

Step 4: Submit your updates and new products for our review and approval. If your product is accepted, your submissions will be displayed within two business days.

You’re almost done! Skip section 2b and read "Please keep your information up-to-date" below and the important information following it pertaining to how Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine uses your listing.


2b. If Your Company Was Previously Added:

Step 1: To update an existing listing or to add a new product, go to the Vendor Login page and use your company name and e-mail address to login (a link to this login can also be found on the encyclopedia page).

Step 2: Submit your updates and new products for our review and approval. If your product is accepted, your submissions will be displayed within two business days.

Login Support: If you can't login with either your company e-mail or company name (one field will do, either your company email or company name), if your still unable to login go to the Encyclopedia of Software and Accessories and search for your products that you have previously listed. When they appear, note your exact company name and e-mail for login purposes and then try logging in again. If you are still having login issues, E-mail the New Products Editor. 

 

How Smartphone & Pocket PC uses the Encyclopedia to publicize your product
• For the public listing of our searchable online Encyclopedia of Software and Accessories (scheduled for a major overhaul, Winter 2007, to make it more visually attractive and include screen shots)
• For selecting nominees for the annual Best Software Awards
• For our weekly New Products newsletter
• For the New Products section on our site
• For our new products listings on the www.SmartphoneMag.com homepage.
• For the New Products Section in each regular print issue of Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine

What We Ask of You
The listing is a free service that we offer. We only ask that you agree to opt-in to receive very occasional mailings from us. Since the start of our online Encyclopedia in 1999, we have never sent more than a dozen e-mails a year, and we normally send less than six.
